Alien to You
Visual perception can be defined as the brain decoding visual stimuli. This psychological and cognitive function somewhat mirrors the process of photographic image making; images are formed as light passes through the lens (the eye) and onto film or a sensor (the retina) where it is then processed in the darkroom or through image editing software (the brain).
Alien to you is a collective exploration of visual perception through analogue, digital and hybrid photographic methods. The artists examine what it means to see and how unique this experience is to the individual.
Alien to you is a group exhibition by students currently undertaking a Diploma of Photography and Digital Imaging at the Northern College of the Arts and Technology.
My series is an exploration of how our visual perception of colour interacts with our emotional state and vice versa. Colour relations and their confluent emotions are analysed through abstract forms and contrasts. The result is a series of deeply emotional images rooted in perceptual science and artistic tradition

Digital Masquerade
This digital multimedia self-portrait is an exploration of the supplementary nature of our digital personas. Our online presence is an extension of our physical bodies that extend into our shared digital landscape. My transexual experience shapes my online presence moulding it to a womb like form corrupted by societal perception. This is an ongoing body of work.
Textural
This is a series of commissioned works for Naarm DJ and Experimental Producer Three Mothers. Her sound scapes from her EP ‘thepassion!’ illicit images of hallucinogenic drugs, intense cold, and smooth textural experiences. Combined with the music the works utilises abstract and clean motion creating an eerie appearance.
